Nothing says Spring has returned to Western North Carolina quite like the return of the Transylvania Tailgate Market. The Transylvania Tailgate Market could be considered a farmer’s market, but it is also much more than that. Every Saturday from April 7 through December 22 of 2012, the Transylvania Tailgate Market is open for business from 8:00 in the morning to 12:30 in the afternoon. It takes place behind the Comporium on the corner of Jordan St. and Johnson St. at 190 E. Main St. in Brevard, North Carolina.
A wide variety of farm products are available at the Transylvania Tailgate Market, including fruits, vegetables, eggs, meats, cheeses, and even certified organic produce. Many farmers’ markets begin and end with similar offerings. Good as those are, the Transylvania Tailgate Market also offers a variety of decorative plants, including annuals, perennials, trees, garden transplants, shrubs, and more.
In addition to plants and farm products, the Transylvania Tailgate Market offers breakfast foods, baked goods, hot coffee, gourmet foods, pickled foods, jams and jellies. If for some reason you’re not interested in food, you can even browse a selection of arts, crafts and jewelry. Whether you’re looking for a delicious breakfast, fresh farm products, or some flowers for your garden, the Transylvania Tailgate Market has it all… and welcome back Spring!
