Hart Branch, Reserve property 5 a, is a beautiful 20 acres tract of land with amazing views. Description written by seller as who would know more than them about this one of a kind property in The Reserve of Brevard!
The Barn site:

The current owner, a horse enthusiast, laid the property out with the appreciation of the views and the practicality of equestrian usefulness. This 8 stall, center isle barn with tack room, and covered porch has been built to blend into the scenery and afford accessibility for the rider. The stalls are true 12x12, with hard pine sides 8 feet up and grill protective fronts. Each red barn door swings in to allow easy turn in and out. Cross ties connect to the center aisle and electrical outlets have been safely planned for trimming horses in the covered cross tie area.

The barn sits high at the front knoll, on the far side of the circular entrance for easy accessibility by trailer. Affording riders quick unloading of horses tack and feed when staying in the Reserve.

Three, 2 rail cross fenced pastures, extend through the largest pasture offered in the entire Reserve setting. The pasture gates open within a few feet of the barn to allow for easy turn out. Separate electricity and water have been installed specific for barn use.

The tack room is large enough to house equipment for the barn, horse feed and tack. Eight mounted drop down custom saddle racks, hang from the far wall in the room. There are ceiling fans located in the center aisle and the porch area for added comfort, and flood lights at each end of the barn as well as lights in each stall.

Custom architectural plans have been drawn to convert a portion of the porch and barn into a barn apt/guest house and can be purchased in addition to the property. A septic permit for up to a 2 bedroom unit has been drawn and paid for and approved for the barn apartment.

The trails:

The Reserve offers miles of exclusive riding trails, created by old logging roads, natural road beds, power lines and the man made access roads for homeowners. If you prefer, the Reserve is situated between DuPont State Park and Pisgah Forest. There are miles of trails, waterfalls, bridges and creeks to cross for hours of exceptional riding.

Some of the Best trails in the Southern United States, as quoted by Trail Riding Magazine.

A septic permit for up to a 5 bedroom house has been approved. House plans for a beautiful 4 bedroom craftsman style home, which was Atlanta’s 2006 “Home of the Year” and features 3 levels with porch decking and open air fire pits, along with floor to ceiling stone work fireplaces and big beautiful open rooms with vaulted ceilings. These plans have been approved by the Developer of the Reserve, and will be sold with the parcel if interested.

Hart Branch, unlike smaller parcels in the Reserve, qualify’s for 2 home sites. Requirements for each stand alone parcel, must measure 10 acres. A separate home site off the back of the property to the right would be an excellent choice, if a buyer were to be interested in the prospect.

A deep 1000+ foot well is located at the house site to the left of the circular cut in driveway. Upon entering the home you will be impressed at the details that this owner took in building his dream home in the mountains of Western North Carolina; just a little over 10 miles to Historic Downtown Brevard. The front door opens into this light and bright custom designed home and into the kitchen with maple cabinets, tile flooring, pantry, half bath and all open to the dining and great room. The upper level not only offers two large bedrooms with usable dormer areas, a second full bath, but a well thought out extremely large office-setting multi purpose area that all over looks the great room. I should not forget to mention all the ceiling heights are almost 10 feet with the bedrooms offering cathedral ceilings. Plus the second level offers over 940 all usable square footage.

This exquisite home also offers a full unfinished basement along with a heated and cooled workshop with the exterior door opening to gently rolling side yard. The gentle topography of the land could be cleared for future equestrian areas, but is currently wooded with short range mountain views. Pisgah Forest
$425,000

It's a delight in the evenings to sit on the covered front porch, amid all the different colors and types of foliage, with a great view of the nearby Blue Mountains, feeling the gentle breeze as you sit a spell.

This house is in the perfect area, a quiet residential cul-de-sac, with one way in and one way out. At the same time, it's in the city limits and you get all the benefits such as water, garbage pick up, police patrol, quick response to any power outages, and almost immediate road scraping in the winter.

This house doesn't go without heat in the winter, for if the power is out, the house stays toasty with a gas log fireplace and another second gas back-up heater.

There's a creek in the back, that's always fun, and it's not deep if the kids want to jump in on a hot summer day. There are also three beautiful huge trees in the backyard, one of which has been a great background for years of family pictures.

The big garage is wonderful with enough room for a car, and to store all sorts of goodies. There's also a shed with power for outdoor equipment and gardening supplies so you can keep these items out of sight, yet handy.

The privacy fence in the backyard keeps young children and/or pets in, and keeps most all other critters out, except of course for the squirrels and birds. Every night you go to sleep to the neighborhood hoot-owl, and arise to bird song.

The two driveways are handy as well, one paved, one gravel that leads to the backyard garage. The front lawn is adorned with a wide variety of perennials, so you don't have to fret about beautifying your lawn, it's already established, so you can just enjoy both the flowers and the greenery. There's also a pebbled walkway from the second driveway to the front door.

If you like, you can take a small walk to the bike trail, which is another joy in itself, get some exercise, or even walk on into town.
Just down the road is the skate park, the post office, the recreation center, the elementary school, and the college is just a short distance.

Inside the house are many wonderful things, for instance, the closed off laundry room. It keeps the heat from the dryer out of the house, also hides your laundry/storage area from guests, while being only one step away from the dining area. Here we have a large screened sliding door, which is really nice in that you can leave it open and enjoy the fresh mountain air. It also adds a lot of light to the entire room.

The kitchen has a wide long counter that's great for preparing meals, and while at the sink you have a wide view of the backyard. The living room is the perfect size, not too big and not too small. The open floor plan gives the feeling of space and roominess, yet the kitchen is hidden from entrance, so if you happen to have a few dishes in the sink, your guests will never know. The super wide hallway is fabulous, no tight squeezes, and this is an added treat and something unique to this house. There are three bedrooms, all substantial sizes and on the same end of the house.

Everything in both bathrooms has been redone, even down to the fixtures, so they are really nice. On the opposite end of the house is the den/office area which could be used for a multitude of purposes, it's even large enough for a pool table! It's currently used as an office and game room, separated by a bookcase, so it's serving as two rooms in one!

The large windows give a lot of light, as does the seated bay window. Another lovely part of this room is the high shelving that encircles the outer walls. Also, lighted ceiling fans in almost every room are delightful, as is the big picture window in the living room, and the brick fireplace surrounding the gas logs.

The cabinets in the kitchen are simply gorgeous, having been redone and brought back to their original glory. All new hardware matches the decor. Some of the windows are double pane tilt, and these are so easy to clean. The front door has a wide glass panel, as does the storm door, so you always have lots of clear light in the living area.

The home is situated in a wonderful neighborhood, right on the edge of city limits, so you get the best of both worlds.

$209,000

This is my opinion is by far the best value in all of Connestee Falls, and a move in ready well maintained home with room to grow in an full almost finished basement.

Sold as is but when you see the home you too will find it's in excellent move in condition, yet priced to sell quickly and a deal not to pass up!

Not only does the home offer winter views, but just what you want to come to the mountains for, are the 3000 foot elevations for those cool summer days to escape the heat of where you live now.

The outdoor living from the large mostly covered decking systems offer built in seating, built in flower boxes, double access’s into the great room from the upper deck and double access with two large sliders in the lower level. While I was there they was a mother deer and her 2 almost grown children that I got within 10 feet as they are almost like pets. White squirrels and wildlife is abundant being in an over 4000 acre community that’s like a preserve.

Nestled in the woods yet only 2.1 miles to the main security gate, yet less than 10 miles to downtown Historic Brevard NC, five minutes or less to the club house to enjoy the optional golfing. Fine dining as well as a sports dining area, fitness center and more are all included for living in Connestee falls, be sure and look at he feature sheet PDF!

Interested in hiking, mountain biking and horse back riding beyond what’s available in Connestee maybe tops a short 15 minutes to the DuPont State Forest with it's over 40 miles of multi-use trails and without a doubt some of our counties most incredible water falls (be sure and check out the video's in the video section of the listings.

Grenville SC is an easy one hour drive, passing Caesars Head State Park and Table Rock with breath taking views. Real Estate is all about location and amenities and you can't ask for better with this home.

The home is feature packed like the great room offering wood beams, cedar interior walls, hardwood floors along with a nearly new remodeled open kitchen, that’s open into the great room. There's even a breakfast bar that offers a large work area as well in the kitchen with appliances that are like new.

The great room offers is filled with natural lighting from the nearly floor to ceiling glass, with a ceiling height of almost an 18 feet. One of my favorite features is the corner wood burning free standing fireplace that's floor to ceiling as well.

The high ceiling in the great room and dining area allows for a large loft as well as a half bath, with dry attic storage. The loft too enjoys great natural lighting as well as looks out the great room windows and winter views. Another one of my favorite features of the loft and great room is that you get to over look the great room, and the natural wood beams that span the width of the home. The loft as you will see in the photos currently is used as an office area as well as plenty of room for beds.

The main level offers 2 bedrooms with some of the walls in cedar wood that follows the theme of the great room and dining area. Just off the bedrooms is a full bath offering a tub and shower.

The lower level has a propane furnace that is brand new and will heat the entire home if so desired to finish the installation. Laundry is conveniently located in the lower level and offers a new laundry tub and is enclosed next to the mechanical area. The basement is in just as prime condition as the upper levels and just ads to the reason why this home is a must see to appreciate!
Connestee offers a fully staffed gated, golfing and amenities packed community. Four beautiful large lakes full of fish, ideal for electric motor boating, canoes’ and kayaking, swimming and just enjoying the sunrise and sunsets over the water that reflects our pristine mountains. See the attached feature sheet, and I can assure you if it's not available then you can start a new group.

Grandfather Mountain

Grandfather Mountain

At 5,946 feet, Grandfather Mountain is the highest peak in this area of the Blue Ridge Mountains, with a 1,500-foot vertical drop into the Linville River Valley to the west and a 4,000-foot vertical drop into the Catawba River basin to the east. These variations in elevation create conditions that support 16 distinct Ecological Communities ranging from rich cove forests and acidic cove forests to heath balds and high elevation rocky summits. Grandfather Mountain is home to 73 rare or endangered species of wildlife.

Some things to enjoy while visiting:

The Woods Walk, The Black Rock Nature Trail, and the Bridge Trail are nature walks which take you through gentle forests and meadows where you'll spot squirrels, songbirds and other forest animals. These paths allow visitors to get out in the woods without being too long or strenuous. For more challenging backcountry hiking exploring Nuwati Trail, Asutsi Trail, Daniel Boone Scout Trail, or Cragway Trail might be more to your liking. Many of these trails use ladders and cables to climb cliff faces. Either way, you will experience the wildlife and awesome views that are found here.

Cross the Mile High Swinging Bridge. This 228-foot suspension bridgehas been in place since 1952 and spans an 80-foot chasmat more than one mile in elevation. The 360-degree panoramic views from the bridge are incredible.

Visit the environmental habitats here at Grandfather Mountain. You'll have the opportunity to see cougars, white-tailed deer, black bears, river otters, bald eagles and golden eagles up close and in their native environment.

The Grandfather Mountain Nature Museum has exhibits designed to educate visitors about the natural history of Grandfather Mountain and the surrounding region. Exhibits include a collection of 62 different North Carolina gems and minerals, a photo exhibit about each of the animals found in the mountain's habitats, birds of North Carolina, a scale model of the Mountain, early explorers, such as Daniel Boone, and Native American artifacts.

Grandfather Mountain habitat is home to as many as 200 different bird species. From woodland species to native high elevation species, such as, Scarlet Tanagers, Pine Siskins, Magnolia Warblers, and Peregrines.

One thing is for certain, no matter how you spend your time at Grandfather Mountain, it will be an unforgettable experience.
