Located in scenic Western North Carolina, Brevard features the very best the area has to offer, from a relaxed, rural atmosphere to the conveniences of a modern city. Its pleasant, unhurried small-town environment is rich in natural beauty, cultural heritage, and social amenities. Brevard's close proximity and easy access to major metropolitan areas like Asheville, Charlotte, Greenville and Atlanta make it an ideal place to live.

For a small town (approximately 7,000 residents), Brevard is teeming with cultural events and opportunities. Brevard College, a four-year liberal arts college, has recently added the Paul Porter Performing Arts Center, which offers musical performances throughout the year.

The world renowned Brevard Music Center, home to outstanding guest musicians and artists during the summer months, offers concerts several times during the week. Numerous festivals fill Brevard's streets throughout the year, contributing to the sense of community that is so evident in this unique mountain town.

Brevard's Transylvania Community Hospital is a fully accredited health care facility, with a staff of licensed health care professionals offering around the clock service to patients and the community. A modern facility and sophisticated equipment combine to provide the residents of Brevard with up-to-date, state-of-the-art medical care.

From 2,200 to 2,800 feet elevation with southerly latitude, Brevard's climate is especially appealing. Winters are mild and summers offer warm days and cool nights.

Residents of Brevard include the well known white squirrels. These beautiful animals can be seen in several areas in and around Brevard. Although they are not a designated species, they are true white in color and have dark eyes like the gray squirrels.

Known as "The Land of the Waterfalls," a name derived from the many waterfalls in the nearby Pisgah National Forest, Brevard is a nature lover's paradise. State and National forests cover more than one-third of Transylvania County, providing endless possibilities for hiking, backpacking, camping, and rock climbing. The French Broad and Davidson Rivers are popular for fishing, kayaking, canoeing and tubing. It's this combination of natural scenic beauty and urban convenience that make Brevard such a special place to live.

Let Jewell and I show you why we have made Brevard NC our home for life.
